The springs shine in the middle of a semi-arid area, in the area of Boma N’gombe, just a short ride from Moshi and Arusha. The water at the springs is at a mild temperature and appears to be boiling as it emerges from the ground, creating underwater bubbles. This is why the springs are also referred to as “Maji Moto”, which means “hot water” in Swahili.

The springs are a geothermal oasis of breathtaking beauty. The site consists of two pools connected by a canal, and the area boasts lush green trees. The larger pool is about 6 meters deep, and at this depth, there is a cave with a surge that feeds the pools and the connecting river. The smaller pool and the canal are approximately 2 meters deep.

If the weather allows, you might even catch a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro from the springs.
